LOL, it's sweet when you can lose power yet still rape a Stang
My hubby thinks it might be my Key Card for work. It's a Proximity card that you just touch the key pad and it unlocks the gate. That is on my key ring next to the Honda key 100% of the time. Would this have any affect?

I have one thing to say... if you have added an aftermarket alarm do not complain about things like this.
The fact that the meter went totally dark means that ignition power was cut or shorted to ground somehow. Either you hit the key with your knee or some other way. If ignition power was cut and the meter was dark there is no way you could restart the car as the FI-ECU, fuel pump, ignition coils don't have power either. First you must turn ignition power back on whatever way it was turned off, then it's possible to restart the car. If the key truely was in the ON position then you would have to beat on something or whatever to get the ignition relays to come back on.
The immobi is not the problem. If it were the car would have trouble starting not running. Every time you shut the car off the immobi light blinks 5 times, that's normal. If the FI-ECU does not recognize the key the car will not start and the immobi light will flash indefinitely as long as you either have ignition on or are trying to start the car.
