You certainly wouldn't be the first S owner to trade up to an (older) NSX.

I've always loved the NSX, but I wouldn't do it. My lust for the NSX subsided quite a bit when the S2000 came out. I understand the emotion, but unless I could afford it as an additional car to the stable I wouldn't trade the S for it...

Now, a 360 Modena on the other hand... (like that's gonna' happen)

The NSX and S2000 though similar, are totally different when driving back to back. Honestly, I think I enjoy the S2000 more on a regular basis. It's much more tossable and i'm not as paranoid taking it places. The NSX handles like it's on rails, but i'm always cautious pushing it to the limit because I don't want to damage anything. (paint, finish etc.) When I go to the movies or the mall, i'm always wondering if some idiot is screwing with it outside....I don't feel like that with the S2000.

Btw...I love the way the vette always makes it into an NSX discussion. The vette is like the 350Z, G35, RX-8, M3, 911 etc. every time you leave the house you see at least 3 of each....when's the last time you saw an NSX? To me that's what's cool about it, sometimes it's not about who has the most HP....Just my .02

I agree with you... It's annoying how people simply assume that everyone is interested in Corvettes. Frankly, I am not much interested in any car that's domestic.

The NSX is awesome. However, I wouldn't trade the S for it -- especially if I'm going for an older one. Bottom line is that the NSX is a much older car (for the ones in the budget you mentioned), and I do not feel that the S2000 is truly short of any particularly characteristic that an NSX would fill in the gap (at least not in my taste).

I would only get the NSX if I have the budget to get a much newer one (i.e. 03+).
