Would you trade your MY04-05 S2K for an older NSX?
Just kind of a random "would you do it" question that I thought I'd kick out there to other owners.
Like most Honda fans, I've always loved the S2K, and am very, very happy to have one now. It's not my daily, and so it sits quietly and clean in the garage until I decide to take it out for some fun (which is just about every weekend, and sometimes on a weekday).
But I've always been smitten by the NSX as well. The article on the front page of this forum stirred up some of those thoughts again, and off to autotrader I went. Now, while I would love to have a newer NSX, I'm thinking that $40K is about the limit on what I'd spend. That puts me in a clean and low mileage early to mid 90s model. And $40K is a lot of scratch for at least a 10 year old car. But it IS an NSX afterall.
So what would you do... keep my 04 S2K, supercharge it (the only mod I really want) and save a ton of money... or start searching for an NSX.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Interesting question. My .02 is that whatever you like and dislike about the S2000 would be magnified with the NSX. Handling goes from great to laserlike, pride of ownership goes from glowing to gushing. BUT haters/gawkers/racers go from an occasion to a regular occurance, insurance goes from an annoyance to a pain, etc. Its all about tradeoffs and comprimise. But I rarely hear NSX owners wishing they never bought one.

I guess one thing I definitely need to do before making that kind of decision is test drive one. But it's not like there are many out there to just take for a spin.

$40 grand i would be buying a new vette. Smoke any NSX.
Or the new GT500 if you can get one for sticker.
Why put down $40k on a car that is on the way out. Back in the day they were sweet but i think its time has passed.

If you can afford it.... go for it. The one thing that scares me about them is the price of replacement parts........ 16K for a new block ... but they are sweet... ( especially in white)

Not everyone cares for Corvettes anyway and clearly the OP is not interested in one. From the title of this thread, the OP is interested in either purchasing an NSX or keeping his S2K.
I think that you should keep the S2K and throw on a supercharger. The S gets plenty of looks on its own for far less cash.

Back before I purchased my S2000, I contemplated a used NSX. But I couldn't find any in decent condition for the price I paid for the S2000.
I assume that the same holds true today. $32k will get you a new S2000, but only a "fair" condition NSX. As you say, it takes getting into the $40k range to get an NSX still in acceptable condition. While I can afford that, I don't have any interest in it.
If the NSX catches your fancy enough, definitely go for it. Take some test drives. See what you can find locally in your price range.
