sorry a mistype still 28700 is great how did you pull that off
I would recommend calling around and finding prices and take those figures around and have them fight for your business, chances are there is a honda dealership that is far superior to the others, like the one I went too. I hate dealerships for the most part, but have had a great experience with Ralph Schomp here in denver. I called around and found want I wanted and they were more willing to bargain with a new 04 that had been on there lot awhile.
When I bought my car I also worked in a hardtop installed, clear bra installed and wheel locks and tint (soft top and hard top) for about 3200.
Good luck with your search, but I agree with the post above about the 04-05's being a different animal. I test drove an 01 and an 04, both broken in, so I rang them out. I definitely perferred the 04.

depending where you live, you should be able to get an 05 under 30k. However, you need to decide whether you want the pre 04 S2000, or the newer version. They are different creatures.
Just to throw another idea at you, if you decide on the AP2 (2004, 2005) you should look for a low mileage 04. I picked up an 04 with 9k on it at Honda Seattle and walked out the door for $24k. There are plenty of deals out there to be had! The dealer wanted $29k, I just kept working on them and it payed off.
Good luck!

$24K for an '03 with 30K miles is not worth it. I got my 02' with 11K miles at $23K. If you could afford the '05, I think you should go for it. Financing a new car has lower APR, and you could get a deal within the invoice prices. I would had bought an AP2 if my deal wasn't so good. Good luck bro,
