I was at a dealer looking at a 03 GP white or an 05 and just curious if you had to choice a new for 31k or a 03 for 24k what you pick. Also I asked the dealer if they expected to have the 06 or was 05 the last year and the dealer stated that they had order 5 06 so i guess maybe we will get 06s after all

Depends on alot of things you don't mention anything about. What's the condition of '03, the mileage, how it fits into your color preference, blah, blah, blah.
And are you saying that all of the dealers who swore there would be no 2006 model were either liars or ignorant?

the 03 has 30k miles on it, will be honda certified in a few days, and well i asked and that is what the dealers in gweniett ga said, and he had 3 05 to sell me so i think he was been honest since he had nothing to gain by telling me there would be an 06

I just bought a new 04 that was on the lot. I got it for 28700, 1300 below invoice.
Also, you need to ask yourself if the differences are worth it. They made a good number of changes to the 04 and up. 04 and 05 are the exact same. more torque by increasing the stroke and displacement to 2.2 liters. retuned the rear suspension, so it is no longer twitchy especially at the track when pushed to the limits. wider rims and tires, new bumper designs and lowered the first couple of gears.
You can get the new one for less than 31. I wouldn't pay more than 30 for an 05 IMO. Also, make sure you get the color combo you want. You will regret it if you settle. also, the warranty is nice and you don't know how those 30K miles were driven.
Hope this helps. Take care and good luck. You will love either.

depending where you live, you should be able to get an 05 under 30k. However, you need to decide whether you want the pre 04 S2000, or the newer version. They are different creatures.
Just to throw another idea at you, if you decide on the AP2 (2004, 2005) you should look for a low mileage 04. I picked up an 04 with 9k on it at Honda Seattle and walked out the door for $24k. There are plenty of deals out there to be had! The dealer wanted $29k, I just kept working on them and it payed off.
Good luck!
