Gotcha...

what about this one?
Its an 03 140k miles
rear ended salvage title that was rebuilt
carfax shows rebuilt title so whatever is required to get it running by CHP was done
says it drives straight

this is before it was repaired:

$1000 less than the other ones. Smogged, registered. And supposedly was tuned, compression test done and timing done but that is what he claims.
So far he has answered every question I have asked, been honest with me 100%, gave me Vin and plate, was honest that he bought it at a salvage yard and was repaired like recently... 1-2 months or recently.

Assuming it drives STRAIGHT (steering wheel centered, airbags in tact and no pull or drift with HANDS OFF) and mechanical is good, would you buy this?

Interior is good. not sure how good the body is cause i cant see detail or HD.
Only problem is its really far lol

If you like the red one, I would ask for more pictures, specifically of the sides that he failed to provide. Would need at least one shot of the front of the car as well as a passenger side shot with the top up. Looks like the top may have a little bit of damage on the passenger side, but hard to tell from the angle and distance.

Personally, I don't think the black one sounds all that bad. Sounds like the owner has taken really good care of it and it comes with a couple of extras. The top's not really a big deal, you can patch it until you save up enough money to replace it if you like.

Decisions, decisions.

sure why not.. considering everything's workable.. nothing shady.. if I had to make the decision.. after I inspected it.. if it doesn't pass that.. well... on to the next one.. in the salvage title world, there's always that chance you could get a decent car outta the deal... if you get stuck with something you just hadn't noticed.. that's your decision too...

Here are some more of the red: For the price if it's good i can live with salvage. some salvages are gems...

As requested, passenger side with top up

But i dont know much about body work so if someone knows about this kind of stuff particularly on the S, I'm interested in how bad the damages appear to be based on the two pictures.

EDIT:

Airbags were deployed and while everything was fixed and the SRS light is off, he said they wont deploy again.

Ah.......
went to see an s2k with 60 miles clean title... made a grindy winding noise when driving.. basically when accelerating. when you coast it winds down. the guy said it was the throwout bearing but I think it's the differential. The differential had a leak like a small one. but i know if you go low on gear oil you can grind and make whining noises. He said his honda mech friend who we had on the phone said it was the throwout bearing. I mean it could be both.
What are the chances that it's either, both or some bigger problem. Is it possible it's a problem inside the tranny? The gears shift real smooth but when accelerating something is making a grindy noise and its in the drivetrain....
price...7500
body 5/10 seats are torn bad
speakers aint hooked up, srs light on, bumpers cracked. and its red so not my favorite color

EDIT:
Well.. thank god for carfax. I knew something wasn't right.. certainly did not look like it had 60k miles on it. Carfax shows last odometer reading was 169,000...
odometer rolllllllbackkkk
