Default Worth it for salvage vehicle, but clean title?

There's a BB '00 S2k at 98k that's salvage and the owner fixed it up, runs perfect and has a clean PA title, but Carfax shows salvage/rebuilt title. The car has header/exhaust and looks great besides needing a new top. The owner wants $11.5k. I was wondering if it's worth it to look into the car more, and if so, how much should I offer him? The owner is on S2ki but I won't name names for risk of bias.

Also there is a Silverstone '00 at 91k that I'm also interested in. Car has invidia exhaust, and J's racing headers/throttle body, top also needs to be replaced and owner wants $11k. I like the mods but would def prefer the BB over Silverstone.

I initially ruled out salvage vehicles because of the resale problem. But I am planning on keeping the car for a long time, and probably won't sell it until I graduate college and start making a lot of money and can afford to sell for cheap. Hopefully the clean PA title will hold the value better than salvage title. In the end I would probably settle on the car that's the least expensive since I am poor right now but need a better car than my slow and ricey 98 civic.

Yes it was. He was rude and gave me attitude when I told him I couldn't meet his price because of the rebuilt/salvage carfax he failed to mention.

His rebuild thread for that car is on Honda-Tech somewhere. I think the car was side swiped and was totaled because of that. Don't 100% hold me to that though.

Thanks, but that kid's attitude was a deal breaker. There are tons of S2k sellers who are much more polite and respectful.
