is this worth it?

local nj dealer has a red s2k with 4k miles on it. wants $30.5K for it. is it worth it? it's a '00 model with all the extra spoiler packages on it ~$1000 and has the aero screen.
they also have a sister dealership that has a black one w/ 7K miles. want $500 more for it b/c it's black.
i prefer black but $500 more for $3K more miles doesn't make sense. color isn't that important.
i've been waiting for a '01 that i can get at msrp in a few months.
what would you do? i'm thinking of asking $29.5K for the red one...

29.5K ? it doesn't hurt to ask. the worst it can happen is they'll say no. but are you sure you want to buy it for 29.5k? resolve that question first. make sure it's the car you REALLY want. actually, I would offer enough lower than that, maybe 29 even. that's the whole point of negotiating, right? from bottom up. Just to give you a perspective on S2000 prices in the NYC area, I bought mine new for 31,200 3 weeks ago. Silver/black. good luck with your purchase.

Don't know if they still have it, or if they would be willing to go below MSRP, but Friendly Honda had a Black/Black for MSRP. The only miles on it would have been transporting from another dealer (they traded cars to get it).
The dealer is in Poughkeepsie, NY and is about 1 hr. from rte 17 in northern Jersey. If you are interesetd call Ron Alexander (845) 454-2400, tell him you found out about the car from Jim.
Good Luck,
Jim
