HI everybody well my s2k while is in the shop for some mods , i took the bitter car here in my house that is a toyota prado , well when i go to the college and the work the changes of dailydriving are huge i would prefer to stay the prado like dd but my only car is my s2k , and that car is from the house for beach trips , general stuff well here tell me experiences of the baddest daily drivers . I want to know here if there are some crazy people using fd rx7 , supra tt , porsche gt3 rs or fully loaded s2000 and why and tell the experiences of having a real nightmire dailydriver...

I think it's mostly opinion when it comes to a daily driver. I daily my car to work 5 day's a week and i love it. I drove a loaner car wich was a 2000 honda civic and I couldn't be happier when I got the s back.
so basicly I think it comes down to personal opinion.

 

I daily drive my S2000 and also take it on road trips occasionally. I drive my daughter to school every day, as well.

I love it. Sure, the stereo sucks and it's a bit harsh in colder weather but otherwise, it's more fun than anything.

Call me hardcore or call me crazy, but I love it.

 

lol i was reading that post and all the sudden i think this dosnet make any sense and look straight to the ts and think to my self " i knew it" lol..

i don't have a lot of traffic ever .. i live in oklahoma biggest trafic jams are when a car crashes on a road thats having construction done.. i have never been in traffic for more than 20 minutes here. so i imagine that has to do with why i dont mind the s as a dd. i think any sports car with a hydrolic clutch would be fine to dd around here.

I daily drive my S and love it.
12 miles, 40 minutes of stop-go traffic each way to work.

My "horror" daily driver was my Yamaha FZ-1. Rear kicked out often in temps around 30 F. In the summer the engine would cook your legs even while cruising at highway speeds. And the standard riding position was made for someone with really long arms...it was supposed to be my comfortable commuter/roadtrip bike, but it turned out that my other "sportier" bikes were more comfortable to commute on...shoulda gotten a VFR to commute on instead.

My worst daily driver was a 1997 Integra GS-R. It had crazy turbo lag that was not easy to modulate and was tuned poorly, so it would stall out while idling after 20 seconds. The radio, AC, carpets, sound deadening, and power steering was ripped out because I thought that was a good trade-off for all the performance gained (in my defense I was a stupid teenager back in 97')...it was fast but a terrible commuter.

 

I DD'd my stripped 84 VW GTI for awhile. No air bags, no PS, no A/C, stationary windows, louder than the S2K with the top down (no sound deadening), ride that would literally knock your fillings out (busted three koni yellows in 25k miles $$ word), 4 point harnesses, etc. It was awesome.

I DD'd my turbo S2k and loved it. Now I DD my 240 and I love it too. Both had/have awfully stiff suspension, especially the 240. It is tiring sometimes to drive it because I live downtown Atlanta and the roads are horrible but when I get to an open smooth road it's worth it.
