Default Windshield -rock chip

I have a very small chip at the top of my windshield and it seems that I've heard of a product that repairs small chips. Has anyone heard of, seen or used such a product? If so does it work and where do I get it? TIA.

Most windshield replacement shops can repair small chips...they'll have the right stuff and know-how to do the repair right.

yes, there are products you can buy at any auto supply store to fill in the chip(hole), and i've tried using those with mixed results(i used permatex). the suction tube doesn't provide enough force to push the sealant throughout all the small cracks. best to go to someone that knows what to do and how to do it.

Thanks for the answers. I am aware of the no-cost replacement offered in my state but this chip is small and above the line of sight and actually could live with it if necessary. I'm goihg to try one of the fix's that were suggested first . To me it would seem a shame to trash an otherwise perfectly good windshield because of this very minor and unobtrusive chip.

I'd recommend having a pro take care of it. Whether you use insurance or not is your call. I generally don't on small items like this.
