I got stuck with a 4 hour drive with nothing but rain this memorial day. I would like to think the weather channel for their continued excellence by predicting the front wouldn't hit until at least Tuesday afternoon.

Anyways I used my wipers continually for the first time and where the wipers stop to the left to go back to the right, I had a large black line formed. It looks like the rubber was just wearing off on the drivers side and the passenger side wipers. I had to rub with a microfabric towel to get this off. Anyone else run into this??

I do use clearvue pro to clean and dress the windshield. Maybe this is the culprit but I always leave the wipers pulled back away from the windshield after cleaning them with clearvue to give it time to dry.

I haven't had any problems like that, I just know these wipers aren't nearly as good as the Bosch I had on my previous car.

I guess I will run by one of the auto stores and pick up the Bosch replacement wipers. I am not sure these stock ones are worth much.

Just a little extra question for you dean, Did you experience any leaking problems whatsoever in your long drive in the rain, just being curious Thanks.

When you get the Bosch ones, get the top of the line ones. I don't remember what they are called but they are near $30 and well worth the money IMHO.

No leaking at all. The windows stayed clear also. Only had the problem with the windshield wiper.

Not familiar with clearvue product but I have experienced the same thing you did on other cars when I used Rain-x. However I use Rain-X on my S2000 and have not seen this problem yet, but haven't driven it enough in the rain yet to really tell.

After using my wipers for the first time Saturday on the way back from Lime Rock Park, the next chance I got to clean my car on Monday, I noticed the same line you are referring to on my windshield. I had noticed this same line in a friends new-at-the-time SLK a year ago. Don't know if this happens in other cars as well.
