Default wind noise between soft top and top of windscreen

can anybody help me with this problem - "wind noise between soft top and top of windscreen"
I have looked through the manualand cannot find a way of tightening the hook/latch.
My Honda dealer had a quick look and said the latches were worn and I would need new ones....How can a latch be worn after 2 years...?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

This is a typical S2K problem. The latches take lots of strain due to the fact that both parts are made of soft metal and there is no rubber in between. I had the same problem and it went away as soon as I replaced the latches. Sorry but your Honda dealer is right

There is a TSB "Wind Noise or Rattle at the Convertible Top TSB37" of the top where they replace the softop roof latches with the stronger ones from the hardtop. Don't know if you would qualify under the conditions of the tsb, but it's worth a try. I had a MY01 set of latches replaced when I bought the car used.

I'm new and bought a '00 2K with only 8500 miles yet out of warranty. Does the TSB override warranty length?

A TSB is just a "note" to Honda dealers. There is no legal responsibility regarding it. Talk to your dealer, and ask them politely to fix it. If they won't then check out Hardtopguy (Site sponser) to see if he can get you the latches at a decent price.

HardTopGuy is a site sponsor, you should be able to search and PM him.

I have heard of a cheap fix / temporary solution you can do in the mean time.
Use a small piece of aquarium airline tubing slipped over the "Finger" on the latch.
The additional thickness of the clear tubing snugs up the top nicely.

You can do this for less than a dollar, in about one minute.

............and HardTopGuy is great for any OEM parts you need, I know from experience.
