You have to disable to clutch pedal sensor to allow the car to start without depressing the clutch.

I have a CompuStar. It's the only one I know of that has a clutch disengage.

Yes it will work with a manual, only thing is getting a shop to do it cuz usually no one will touch a remote starter on a manual. That's unless u go with compustar, e-brake has to be up which means it won't remote start if ur in gear.

yup, can be done. Just have to bypass the clutch. I have it done to my Clifford alarm on my Civic.

Friend left my car in gear one time. I remote started it and it kept jerking forward.
Luckily we got it to stop before it hit my friend's car. And that is why they don't do it in the shops.

Modifry had a remote start on his MY2000. He bypassed the clutch switch so the car would start and he also created a switch for the shifter so the car would only start if it was in neutral.

I believe he had a thread about it here on S2KI, or possibly a page on his site detailing the process. I'll try to find it.

You might ask him for some details, pics, or a link.

I have it too, clutch by-pass. Everyone is right though, to do it right you need a module and most installer shops will not touch it on a manual.

Had mine installed without a hastle. It's a pain in the a$$ to put it on remote start. All doors closed, break pedal, break handle, release break pedal, push remote start button within 5 secs.
Once you set it, you can't open the door or else you have to do that all over again.
I always put in on valet mode (which is required) to disable the remote start.

CompuStar is the only remote start I've had on my manual cars as well. For those who haven't seen it in action, you remove the key and the engine remains running. Then you get out of the car and when you close the driver door, it shuts down the engine.

The point of the process is to ensure you're out of the car, therefore not depressing the clutch while the engines running, so the system knows it's not in gear.
