Will S2000 still be in production for the 2002, 2003 model years?

I was wondering if Honda is still planning to continue importing roughly 5000 S2K's a year for the next couple model years. I say this because I can't really afford the S2k for another 6-7 months so I need to know if it will still be availible during that time.(I'm also waiting till then because it will be the dead of winter and I should be able to get a good deal ) Thanks Guys , Bob J.

Welcome to the board.
My name is Malachi.
Here is what I post:

"In the upper right of this page is a bunch of navigation links. One of them is 'Search.' This searches all past posts. Before posting a question it is worthwhile to take the time to find out if it has already been discussed and/or answered. Before starting a thread, it's worthwhile looking to see if one already exists that you can simply reply to (thus keeping opinions intact and historical integrity complete)."

In this case, you have posted perhaps the most asked question of the last 6 months. The short answer is "nobody knows." The long answer is "everybody claims to know something and what everybody claims to know is all contradictory."

Feel free to read the (many and often long) threads on this topic. I'd suggest a search for "production 2002".

Welcome to the board! Every Newbie is entitled to at least one FAQ Q, and I think you hit the one many peeps have been wondering. Malachi is right ...we wont know until the time comes. Who knows, we may end up with and NSX run of ten years+ . I for one dont mind b/c this is an amazing car that enthusiasts should all get an opportunity to enjoy, even if some of us will feel less special.

It is a little known fact that 2000 was the last year of production of the true S2000. All since then are actually Civics with body kits.

Exactly! Honda was also afraid of the Y2K bug so they decided against putting a time piece in the car

Malachi....saw a VERY interesting short film today in management developement (Fortune 50 Company-Executive Management).....thought of you as your posts here are the antithesis of the presentation:

You continue to post this "go search" shit. It's your moniker and quite frankly it's one I wouldn't be proud of...it offers nothing. You apparently don't realize that some people would just like a little guidance and are asking honest questions....they haven't read 1,000 posts as soome of us have.

I would have emailed you off line but you have no email address.......

Well...
Shrug.
Who am I to ignore the kind request of a fellow owner or the advice of Management Consultants.
I'd thought it was helpful advice, but clearly I was incorrect.
I will delegate this responsibility in a timely and enabling manner from this point forward.

I think it's a good idea to point out the search function to new members. It will prevent them from asking 10 FAQ's as soon as they hit the board. I don't think Malachi's response was rude at all. We get at least a new post every 2 weeks asking when they're going to stop making S2000's, it would be nice if some of these people would search first.

I wonder if anybody will even notice when someone has some real confirmed information about this subject. I guess we'll find out in a few months.

Mark
