Will an S2000 reach top speed with stock gears with FI?
Just curious if anyone has hit 9k in 6th gear with a FI car? What speed was reached? Would 4.57 gears be a good install with FI in future plans? Thanks

Not sure yet... On one particular night I was curious and particularly *stupid* and hit 156 on speedo and 152 on GPS with stock gears (Of course, on a closed course, cough, cough). Still had room to go, but the car gets a little too screwy at that speed, so I didn't go further. As far as top speed... do you really need to go faster? I mean that's already an anything happens you're dead speed.
I'm putting in 4.57 gears with FI (maybe the 2nd time will be a charm). I heard another member actually wishing they kept their stock gears with FI++ setup. But, I think I'll be happier with them to allow to get in VTEC range sooner.

You are on the right track for what I am looking for. I am trying to make an educated decision if 4.57's are going to be worth while with FI. The 4.57's will be nice in NA trim but will they still be nice with FI. The Cobra I had was nice with 4:10's NA but I rode in one with FI and the same gears and it stopped short. There was no much more power wasted. The Honda is a different animal so the more info the better.
Thanks

I believe redline speed is about 174mph. When I had my supercharger I was never on a road where I was able to get up to that speed....So I couldn't tell you for sure, but I don't doubt for a minute that you can.

Having FI will have no effect on the car's top speed, as it is gear limited already. You'll just reach your top speed faster. Going to a 4.57 rear end will also reduce your top speed, but improve acceleration. With stock gears, I think the indicated top speed is like 171, with the actual speed being 155-160...can't remember for sure. You could try searching for "top speed" or "top speed calculator" and I'm sure you'll find a better answer.

Although a stock car will not see any reduction in top speed when going to 4.57s, a F.I. car will.
That having been said, unless you live in a place with no speed limits and very long, straight, flat roads, why is anyone really worried about losing a bit of top end anyway?
