I'm considering trading some my black AP2 seats for his AP1 red seats.
I was wondering if the AP1 seats had trouble fitting into the AP2. If it's not a perfect fitment then I'm probably not going to trade. I don't want lights showing up everywhere.

Oh and I'm trading because I'm trying to do all red interior with blue. I think it looks good 0.o

Not a good idea. Most likely will not fit because the seats are not exactly the same.

Will be a downgrade for you.

i heard the latter years have sensors and stuff which the older seats didn't. try to look for the red seats out of a 08 gpw or bb or chicane.

U need to swap the rails, i seen 08 seats in a ap1. So it has to fit.

the short answer is: no

-AP1 leather is different than AP2 leather.
-AP1 rails are different than the AP2 seat rails(which would require swapping rails)
-AP2 seats have sensors for your airbags. Disconnect and you'll get a airbag light on your dash.

where are you located in arkansas? i know of a good upholstery shop in little rock who could recover them for ya.

you can switch them, i have o8 seats in my 00.... i just swapped the rails and side hinges, very easy to do, and the sensor for the air bags should be from the seatbelt connection so keep your 08 seatbelt connector. if not get the seat covers from gotuning for 300.
