What's the name of the dealer and do you have a VIN# for the car you test drove? If they are letting people VTEC a car with 10 miles on it, I wouldn't want to buy from them. The Manual specifically says not to VTEC for 600miles. They will be selling that car with a possibly damaged engine.

So sad to see how dealers don't understand their own cars.
You crazy just like your name.

Your engine was ran at redline before it left the factory. Is your engine damaged?

Great choice, and congratulations on your purchase!
I too felt the exact same way after having driven a 350Z Track, it had a good sound system, great power (esp down low) and nice instrumentation...in fact I thought it was a great buy, and was expecting (but hoping otherwise) that the S2K would disappoint me in the straightline department. I took one for a test drive, and I was proven wrong, the S2K was so much more involving, felt very balanced and also held its own in a straightline stoush. It was tonnes more fun than the 350Z would ever hope to be, plus it looked a lot more pleasing to the eye IMO. The ability to lose its roof just sealed what was already a done deal.

congrats - the white s2k is beautiful!!! you'll love it from the moment you drive off the lot.

i have a single 10" JL sub, JL components and amps and that's plenty for sound as far as i am concerned. the stock stereo is definitely a POS - but then again i guess it's not too bad for what it is. however - for me a good stereo setup is a MUST...so it had to go.

i was at the dealership a week ago - got a really close look at an 05 red one. looks to me like the paint is solid red - no flecks, metallic, etc. just HEY LOOK AT ME IN MY SEXY CAR BRIGHT ASS RED

Thanks for the warm welcome. The process is on now as my dealer placed an order for my new, never test driven, 2005 S2000 to be delivered in 3 weeks (give or take a few days). I find it interesting that others felt the same about the 350Z in comparison to the S2000.

My current car retailed twice as much as a new S2000. Actually, it is still valued as a used car higher than that of a new S2000. However, the S2000 is incredibly more fun. Can't wait to play.

After thought...during my fun test drive, I didn't red line the car. I only broke into VTEC twice, was brief and not overly hard on the car. I respect property, especially a sweet car as an S2000.

Suspense, huh? LOL
Current ride is more on the luxury/sport. 2002 Lexus SC430. I've had enough of that, so time for pure fun, hence S2000. FYI: I did consider the 911 and the NSX. While I am fortunate to afford either, I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money for a car, well, not yet. I know, several of you will say, "what about a Vette". I simply don't care for American cars. I need reliability.

next time just say Viper. I can tell you're taking a step or should I say leap in the right direction. Please post pictures of the car when it comes in, I may be driving an 05 GPW soon as well. I need the encouragement.

As soon as I take delivery of the 05 GPW S2000, I'll "join" S2Ki and post several pics. Have a sexy Asian bikini model who is eager to pose with the car in a thong bikini. Humm, hot white car + sexy Asian in a white thong bikini..now that's loving life.
