Damn. A TWENTY FIVE mile test drive on a car with only 10 miles on it? Thank god I got a car with under 20 miles on it. I'd hate to think someone took my car on a long test drive and vtec'd it before it was broken in.

Looked at Boxster and S2000, and it wasn't even a contest. I WANTED to get the Boxster, and the sound it made was BEAUTIFUL, but I would have felt ripped off forever if had gotten it over the S2K.

I also was going to buy a 350Z but after being in their forums and seeing the

the horror storys about transmissions's and alignment problems it was time to

look elsewhere. Getting the S2000 was one of the best decisions i have ever

made. Nissan is turning these things out at a unbelievable rate we have a

large dealership here, i counted 14 on their lot on Tue with sale tags on em.

What's the name of the dealer and do you have a VIN# for the car you test drove? If they are letting people VTEC a car with 10 miles on it, I wouldn't want to buy from them. The Manual specifically says not to VTEC for 600miles. They will be selling that car with a possibly damaged engine.

So sad to see how dealers don't understand their own cars.

When I purchased my 04 the service dept told me the break in is not important and it's OK to VTEC it right away. Go figure!
