Why some people will never buy a S2000

Buy used. I guarantee that the large majority of owners know more and care more for their cars than the dealers.
I had the most funny experience at a Ford dealership. I went into my local Ford dealer to find out which company the dealership uses to perform window tinting. I ask a salesman this question and he says "Tint? You mean that dark stuff on the windows? I dont even think that stuff's legal." Needless to say, I left.

You're doing it all wrong! (I'm assuming that you have already decided you want the car).
You need to do all the negotiating and color picking over the internet. Don't even bother calling. Get one of the cars coming off their list (hasn't hit the US yet) and be there the day it gets off the truck. Don't let them touch it - tell them you'll pull off the tape and all you want them to do is to remove the spacers while you watch.
This way will give you the best deal with the least amount of sales negotiation crap. Also, you'll rest assurred that they can't screw up the car at all before you get it.
There are many chances for Honda to screw up the sales experience - the trick is to make it as simple as possible with you controlling as many variables as possible.
Now as for service - that's a different matter! Good luck controlling that one!

I disagree that the S is honda's flagship car. These guys make their money selling accords. and pretty soon the ridgeline might be kicking ford's butt. When my lease was ending on my mazda a few years ago and went to honda to look at a new car, i told the salesmen of the situation and he said to come back when i was ready to buy. in 2 weeks!!!! no test drive/brochure/nothing.

Let me get this straight at the first dealer you were upset the car was dusty! You do know that they will wash it "if "and when you purchase the car.Try asking to have the car presented for demo next time maybe someone will move it for you.
Not every salesman will be familiar with an s-2000 they may be new did you ever think of that. There is a "first week" for everyone, who are you to judge?Try asking for a salesman that is familiar with the vehicle.Wtf are you asking a receptionist questions for ?Last but not least the salesman may have made the mistake of prejudging you, they get tired of having to show this car to every S-2000 wanna be owner. He may of been playing dumb hoping that you would just leave and stop wasting his time.Want a professional to sell you a car; then act like a buyer instead of some roving Honda critic.Four dealeships and not one was up to you standards -maybe you are the one with the issue!!!
Go ahead with the feedback everyone!!!

Guys... you should step out of yourselves sometimes... it helps
the few people that are in the market for a specialized vehicle like this, doesnt need to be sold on it.. they were sold a long time ago.

It sounds like you went to some bad dealers. I went to 2. 1st one had an 03 in 04 with 200 miles and it was perfect. They said they couldn't sell because it had the hard top option. ..... Almost bought!!
The second dealer had as there primary showroom car and it was a blk and beautiful 04
I did buy that. I liked the interior of the 04 and was concerned about the 200 test miles on the 03.
Bottom line find a different town to shop around or something and you shouldn't need to be sold, you should already be sold long before you walk in.
