My suggestion would be to keep your S. If you didn't already have the car, I'd understand your indecision. You could always take some of the $12k you'd lose in the trade and put it into toward mods for your S.

su2ny, you might try posting your questions about pricing and trade in value in the appropriate Canadian forums. I would like to help you, but I'm not familiar with the Canadian prices.

Also, I would entertain trying another Nissan dealership. It sounds like they're trying to take you for a ride at the one you're talking to now.

Look guys, I didn't mean to start this flaming match. Su2ny's 1st language is not English which basically makes perfect sense now. In fact I admire him for being able to speak, better yet, write a second language. I apologize for my question. I didn't mean to come off as a smart azz. I think that the conversion factor for CAN to USD is .67 right now. The 2001's are going for around $27,000 USD with average mileage.

I couldn't agree more. I recently went into a dealership with my girlfriend to shop for her car. The sales manager saw me pull up in my S, and after my girlfriend had been talking to the dealer for awhile, and taken a test drive, the sales manager approached me. He asked me if I liked my Honda, and I said 'absolutely'. He then proceeded to say that he used to own an S, but traded it in - "It was 'only' a Honda, had no torque, and vtec gave me a headache. Unlike our TT here", he said. I said, "good for you. I'm not even in the market for a car. My girlfriend is. Did you think bashing my car was going to get you a sale here?" My girlfriend was irritated as well. We went elsewhere.

Yeah, I went with him today and was honestly disgusted at what the sales guy was pitching. The guy even went as far as saying that the 350Z sells for $51k CDN at some auctions (?), which is about $5-6k over sticker? Also went as far as bashing the S2000 and claiming that the Z is in a different class. That is definitely BAD business...
