S2000's way much more fun to drive. And looks better IMO. Sure the 350z might be faster, but then if you get a 350z because its faster than an s2000, then your going to see ALOT more other cars that are much faster than the 350z. Plus you see z's every other minute. S2ks are much more rare.
I do see alot more fairladies being driven where I live, but that's because I live by the Nissan plant. There are parts of town where S2K grow on trees also.

Over 1 million 350Z's sold in the US vs. what, 80K S2000?
100:1 production ratio dictates that the Z is going to be dime-a-dozen virtually anywhere, far more commonplace than the S2000.
I owned a 350Z. There were things about it I liked, but way more things I did not like. I find the S2000 much more in line with what I was in the market for.

Primary reason the S2000 is better to me: it's 500 lb. lighter. Secondary reason, the Z is pretty ungainly-looking. It's weight and awkwardness are both due to its being an Infiniti luxury sedan/coupe scrunched down to a 2-seat "sports car".
I didn't even consider the 350Z, and I'm a Nissan guy ('71 240Z, '91 240SX, '95 240SX).

Although I think nobody's given one the proper development yet, Nationals results show the S2000 to be the faster autocross car. S2000 is a proven winner in AS (which is a faster class), 350Z is in BS and hasn't caught the RX-8 yet.
Otherwise they're just different. I like them both. But, when the S2000 first came out, I've wanted one ever since. The 350Z just never grabbed my attention in quite the same way.

the 350z has more torque, more horse power, quicker 0-60, faster 1/4 mile, a much more up to date interior, and even a little more cargo room.
So why do you think the s2000 is the better car ?

im actually surprised to hear these reasonable responses, on alot of other forums you will get retarded comments "this car is better and superior just because!"
I like the 350z but I fell in love with the s because its a convertible, light, small, and screams when pushed (its a love or hate thing, but I love it, I don't like the monotone of the 350z as you accelerate IMO only)
to me what sold me was a drive on a nice summer night with the top down, i've always loved convertibles since

The S2000 is a sports car, the 350Z is a sports like car. It share far to many parts with the Nissan SUV and other models for me to consider it a true sports car.
The 350Z interior is cheap and plasticy. Like most Nissan models, the earlier years had problems.
With all that said, I still like the 350Z, not more than an S though. If I were to get a 350Z, I would just get a G35 and have a practical car.
