Unlike many of you, it was not love at first sight for me. The car didn't look that exciting in the auto magazine photos. My interested picked up when a friend at work walked into my office and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride in his new car. He let me me drive it. But, with less than 1000 miles on the OD I elected not to push it. I could see it handled good. It sparked my interest more when he punched it on the way back. I started looking for a used one that was broken in to test drive. After VETC'ing it through the first four gears I was reminded by my wife that doing over 100 mph in someone else's car wasn't too smart. Maybe not. . . but I couldn't sleep that night. That sealed the deal. Two days later I put a down payment on a new one. I love the looks of the car now - it just took a while for it to grow on me. I think the simplicity of the lines will make it a classic timeless car and that engine, oh that sweet engine.

I really like Hondas. They just have a certain magnetic character to them. The first Honda I owned was a 2000 Civic Si. Fun car. Then stepped up to a 2001 Integra Type R. This car had such edge; it was a no frills car, a DRIVER'S car through and through. But, it attracted too much attention from the wrong type of people. When I went to get another car, I wanted to stay loyal to the Honda brand. I also wanted something equal or greater in performance than the Type R. The choices become limited when you look at Honda's USDM lineup under my previous requirements.

Bottom line, I couldn't afford the NSX.

But the NSX isn't a convertible.

Uncle Fester - that's a cool lineup of cars you've had. It's like you took a step up the Honda line every car. Is the NSX next?

My previous car was a del Sol VTEC. With double over-head cams, VTEC, an 8200 rpm redline pushing 100 hp per liter, it was a blast to drive. That car got me hooked on convertibles. The S2000 was, of course, the next logical step

I never even considered another car to replace the Sol. It was the S2000 or nothing.
