I now know why my S02's let go so suddenly and ferociously the other day. My tire pressure was way too low I always check my tire pressure when I gas up my car at my local gas station of choice at their air pump. Tonight, though, I broke out my own tire pressure gauge and just checked it at home. Well, it looks like the gas stations gauge has gone bad. My gauge read 25 psi rear and 26 psi front I couldn't believe it so I checked some random newish cars in my neighborhood and they all read ~ 32 psi. So I went to my station and it read ~32 psi. I went to another station w/a kick ass pump complete w/nice brass gauge: 25 psi. Doh! So I pumped it up to ~33 all around and went back to my street from the original post. I purposely pushed the car hard enough to break traction and this time it was slow and progressive w/plenty of feed back (no real squealing though). Very easy to control, just ease up a little before things got too sideways. The S02's definitely need to be replaced as the cornering limits are still noticeably lower than when fresh. But they are now on par w/what I was expecting considering their ware. It doubly sucked since my girlfriend uses the same station and her Miata's tires were at 25 psi too. On the bright side, it did provide a great excuse to gallivant around town in our convertibles listening to the sounds of Nippon on FM Dual

It's bad enough with a sports car, but I wonder how many Ford Explorer owners use that gas station's tire guage?

I have said it before but I will say it again
BUY A GOOD TIRE GAUGE AND USE IT ONLY!
Do not trust the gas station air pump gauges. Order a calibrated gauge from one of the racing supply houses and use it and ONLY it.
I truly believe many of the "problems" people have with the S02s is they don't have the right tire pressure. The S2000 is very sensitive to tire pressure like any razors edge sportscar would be.
Spend 30 bucks on a profesional gauge, it makes a difference.
