Why No Rubber On The Accelerator?

The slippery gas pedal makes it easier to quickly blip the throttle, then slide your foot off, when heel-toe downshifting.
I want my toe to stay planted on the brake while I'm heel-toeing, but I actually twist my foot each time I blip the throttle when downshifting, and it would be mighty disheartening if my heel got "caught" by the accelerator while doing my dance and it would probably be even more disheartening if my toe slipped off the brake. Therefore, the accelerator should be slippery and the brake pedal should be grippy.

I don't even lift my heel for heel and toe downshifting.
