TURBOS AND VIAGRA. I TAKE 'EM BOTH. GETS MY HEART BEATIN'. FORGET ABOUT THE TURBOCHARGER IN THE ENGINE.
GET A HEART DEFRIBULATOR THAT HOOKS UP TO THE VOLTAGE OUTLET. TALK ABOUT A RUSH.... THAT ELECTRIC CHARGE TO YOUR HEART WILL GET YOU MORE EXCITED THEN ANY 911 GT2 OR ANY OF THAT OTHER FANCY STUFF!
p.s. the GT2 is lame compared to the lingenfelter corvette..... Again, why would you spend 130,000 on a GT2 when you could spend 50,000 on a new Corvette plus 20,000 in mods........
WELL YOU ANSWER YOUR OWN QUESTION.
IS IT BEHIND DOOR NUMBER ONE:
THE "COOLEST" PORSCHE AROUND?
OR IS IT BEHIND DOOR NUMBER 2:
"WHY SPEND $30,000 MORE WHEN YOU COULD JUST BUY A TURBO?"CORVETTE THAT LOOKS LIKE EVERY OTHER OLD MAN'S CORVETTE?
BECAUSE IN SOME INSTANCES STYLE AND EXCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY BEATS BRUTE HORSEPOWER POWER AND COMMON ISSUE LOOKS.
p.s. SERIOUSLY!!! I'M GOING TO MAKE QUARTER SCALE S2000'S CALLED WIDGET2000s AND SELL THEM TO MIDGETS AND TOSSED DWARFS.
how ya like me now xviper??? one word that describes me: INNOVATOR.

Are you sure you can respect Honda's philosophy on building engines? You still seem to equate "better" with ultimate hp/torque ratings - your statement, "Even Porsche has a Turbo and they make better engines than Honda," seems to prove this. I for one would not say Porsche makes better engines than Honda. It seems like you want Honda to be something Honda tries not to be - so, I have to ask then, why do you want a Honda? Some people like apples, some people like oranges (some people like both), but I think if you the consumer wants the characteristics of both, car companies end up giving you an applange or an oraple - a mess that doesn't know what it wants to be. And ultimately you get all the car companies building the same types of cars with very little difference between them....boring.

There are already 20,000 in the US and they are not about to discontinue the car. In fact, there will be a new model coming out in October of 2004, which will really drop the value of our cars. So stop all this S2000 worshiping and check back into reality. The car is above average but could use some improvements, mainly in the power department... The bumpsteer could be taken care of as well.
Why can't we worship the S2000 for what it is here? After all this is a forum devoted to the car and most of the people here absolutely love theirs.
Above average but could use some improvements in the power department? Wow...a new criticism from you I see. I think most of us have tried to explain to you, whether calmly or hostilely, that Honda's mission as a company doesn't revolve around producing the fast car on the block. Honda believes in efficiency, reliability, and most importantly LOW EMISSIONS. I think that as soon as you figure out a way to get 500HP out of an engine, while maintaining LOW EMISSIONS and reliability, Honda will have a place for you on their design team. Until then I suggest you sell your S2000 or go buy a damn turbo kit for it. Honda is not going to produce the car you are looking for. They are NOT going to out do their flagship NSX with a $30,000 car so PLEASE stop complaining about it here and right a letter to Japan.

Unless you're young, in which case hormones over compensates for any "troubled" mind.

But, then I ask, why is the NSX 90k if Honda can make a car for 32k that has 8/10's of it's performance? Honda needs to improve the NSX so the S2k won't be close on it's heels.
Honda, Porsche, Ferrari....they all have different missions as a company. Honda's mission has been, and will continue to be, the production of extremely efficient low emissions vehicles. Simple as that. If Honda didn't care about their standard for low emissions I am sure the option would be available for a Honda "musclecar." It's not as if they don't have the technology or know-how to put together the kind of car you are looking for from Honda, they just won't do it because it undermines their entire vision.
Like I, and others have already said, if you want grunty torque you are looking in the wrong line of cars. If you are willing to spend a couple of thousand dollars extra for a higher horsepower Honda why don't you just invest in a turbo kit? You keep bringing up manufacturers that use turbo's and superchargers but I don't see you going that route for your own car. Why is that?
