why was the guy selling clear headlight ap2 lenses

Didnt even see this thread until someone linked me to it.
I havent been on s2ki because my house burned down, and I've been working towards getting things back under control so I can start production again for those who expressed early interest.
I was suspended back in december, apparently because I posted something too commercial in A|X Boi's petition thread. The message I got said it was rude to offer my own product in a petition intended for another vendor.
My take on it was that said petitioned vendor wasnt stepping up after the thread being active for over a year; also, the original thread as I recall it was an open petition to anyone to make things.
When the first salable lenses started coming out of the molds, I sent honda gal a message asking if it was okay to sell them. She told me to ask cthree (or asked cthree herself, I forget). Either way, she was super cool, and I got permission to start a thread in the for sale forum without becoming a vendor, as a one-time thing.
I was contacted by a vendor, but as these are hand made and I have a full time job + school, I dont have the means to supply him in the quantities that would be required. This is a boutique item for now.
I never started the thread because I didnt want to get all premature on people. I had a few people PM me, and I wanted to take care of them, generate some positive feedback, and make sure the lenses lasted in the real world before saying "hey everyone, I've got this for sale!".
So, the suspension came as something of a surprise. I thought I'd gotten permission. *shrug*
Here's where things stand now.
In a week, I'll be able to start filling orders for the people who contacted me off board. There are 10 of them. Once they're happy, one of two things can happen:
1) I can start my for-sale thread, with permission and full endorsement of the mods, and start selling batches of them.
2) I can just rely on word of mouth.
I'd really prefer option one because, well, its just cooler. :-D
Either way, a quick google search leads to my name and contact info. If people want them, they know how to find me.
I dont intend for this to be a high volume thing. Honestly, after the people who've contaced me in the last 6 months are happy, I think I'm going to be pushing it selling one set of these things a week. I have no idea how much demand there is, honestly. If it takes off, and I can use s2ki, I'd be an asshole if I didnt donate a percentage of that benefit to s2ki.com.
Right now, all I want to do is recoup the cash I've spent out of pocket for molds and tools to make these things. I did it because the community wanted it, it seemed fun (and it is!), and I just wanted to help out. If I can make a little extra, awesome. If not, well those few of us with clear-lensed AP2s will just be cooler than the rest. :-P
So umm, how about it guys? Are things still cool?

here is my pm response.
You will need to talk with cthree. You should be able to post this ad without specifically being a sponsor. Again c3 is the one who deals with all the sponsor advertising questions
Stating you should be able post an ad without specifically being a sponsor was not the go ahead to do this. It means you still needed to talk with cthree about options. He has given special delas to folks who are not in a business.
I would hold off on your venture until you do talk with cthree. Just my opinion.
