Why gamble with tyres ?

Why do people insist on ignoring proven S02 tyres and gamble on maybe a slightly cheaper brand?
Honda had a tyre developed especially for the S2k and it seems some of us know better than the skilled engineers
who designed our favourite car. It doesn't make sense.
Over here were having some owners sueing dealers for not supplying exactly the right S02 when they had an accident so surely if you have an accident and you have not fitted the specified tyre there's a great get out cause for the lawyers.

We keep forgetting here guys that the S2K is a high performance piece of machinery, designed to be driven hard and not poodled about in.
OK, I (reluctantly) accept some owners bought it for show NOT go, in which case it probably wouldn't matter what tyres you used because you are never going to drive the vehicle anywhere near its limits.
For those of you who bought the car to drive to anywhere near its maximum potential, however, I strongly suggest you stick with the original S02s. Otherwise, its like training to be the world's fastest sprinter then going to the track wearing a pair of cheap tennis shoes because you figure you might get a few more races out of them.

Or you can get a different set of Max. Performance tires if you weren't too impressed with the stock OEMs...
