Default why does my e brake handle get immensely hot?

I know its hot right now... but even at night time when its cool my e brake handle gets extremely hot. Does anyone know why? also... when i use my windshield wiper it makes a ticking noise and one more question is it normal for me to just take it out of gear and pop it in neutral without hitting the clutch?like i'm in 6th and then i just take it out of gear and leave it in neutral.. maybe i'm just paranoid.. help me please. thanks

Me e-brake does not get hot, seems odd. (In direct sun it will get hot, but not at night.)

Have you looked at the mechanism for the wipers? Is there something binding or catching? I don't experience this either.

Yes, you can take the car out of gear without the clutch. I still use it to remove, but you don't have to. You can also put the car in gear without the clutch, but this requires some skill to pull it off successfully, and unsuccessful attempts get expensive FAST.

The handle gets hot because there's very little insulation and distance between the hot engine/transmission and that portion of the interior. Some people call the cup holder the "cup warmer" for this reason.

About the winshield wipers, if you have a MY00 or MY01 it's probably the relay making the clicking noise. This is supposed to be normal. They fixed this in MY02 and MY03.
