Default Who wants to tour the Suzuka Factory?

Just wondering how many of you all are going to the Tokyo Auto Salon this year. And if so would you be interested in visiting the Suzuka Factory where the S2000 is currently produced. I already have 2 people just need 8 more.

Just trying to get a feel if anyone would be interested. Nothing is confirmed with the factory tour. Just starting to do my initial research on it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm working on trying to go. Went to Tokyo earlier this year, and really want to go back!
If you could pm me some info (like which hotels you're using, etc.), i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

they are hand assembled. robots stamp out the parts, but humans bolt and weld everything onto the car. open your doors, look where the outer door skin is welded to the rest of the door frame. you see the tig welds very clearly.

CRAP, I am already going to CES in Vegas so I wont be able to go to this.... Touring the Suzuka factory would really kick ass... Are there any other times groups from here would be going??

Hmmm... this explains why I found a brand new 10mm bolt beside the fuel tank rattling around in there and I have yet to find another one that is still in there.

At least in Takanezawa, the welds were done by robot. But everything else, yes, it was hand assembled. I don't know how things are being done in Suzuka though. Anybody who goes MUST report back.
