The old rims are to the end of the wheel(spikes) and the new ones finish in the inner part of the wheel and they look smaller dont they?

Here in the US we have always had the rims that have the spokes ending on the inner part of the wheel, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
IMO I prefer the wheels you refer to as "the new ones".

well, I tell ya, i liked the stock ones too, but if you can afford some aftermarket rims...I went with the Work Meister S2r's...duuude, they are sooo pimp (in a good way, not a bling bling way). I've had mine on for a couple days and each time I look at them, I like them more and more. But the car on stock rims is still as pimp

Can some one set me straight on the difference in wheels. Or are they the same in the US from 2000-2003? A side by side pic would be awesome. Thanks in advance...

On a recent trip to the UK, I discovered that their cars came standard with a non-machine finished rims on the '00 and '01 models. The '02 cars had the same machine finish to the outside surface of the rims that we have enjoyed in the USA all along. As Joe_S2k stated, the '02 finish is slightly different than the '00 and '01 finish. HTH

The 2002 rims in the UK are much much better than the 00 and 01 mode years.
And to be honest, a lot of my friends think that my car has 17 inch rims rather than the 16s that they actually have.
I have seen the old ones next to the new ones and there's no contest.
I was once driving and caught up to a 2000 MY and the first thing the guy commented on was the rims - he said "I love your wheels"...
