Paid MSRP. Got almost all the options, he threw in the ash tray (still in box) and since the car and the options went over the luxury tax limit, he made a seperate bill for about $600 worth of "parts" so the bill wouldn't top the "luxury tax limit".

$33,000 including mats, black badges (installed), all dealer prep, delivery and doc fees. I figure that makes it about $200 - $300 over MSRP.

S2K_CLS
== > your right! Dick Hannah payed me MORE then MSRP for my 2000 S2K 1 year old and 7K miles on it. I of course had to pay a huge markup on the new one! Here is what Thomason had on my 2000:

I paid MSRP for mine on 15 November 2000 with _no_ forced options or warranty.

I did paid extra for the security system, titanium shift knob, wheel locks, cargo net, seatback nets.

I paid MSRP plus I forced them to match partscheap.com's cost for my floor mats, alarm and windscreen. I think the total came to around 33000 last november.

Of couse, I was on a waiting list for a LONG time.

Me! $48,000 + $850 PDI + bloody 14% in taxes (only tax like this in Canada you say?)

Above in CDN $ - work it out. There's another red at the dealership right now. If you all south of the border want it, email me and I will give you info (a little tricky to get it south - Honda doesn't like it, customs doesn't care).

P.S. I don't think you pay all the tax if exported?

How long did those of you who got your car "yesterday" have to wait? The market adjustment B.S. is nothing new with Hondas. When the Accord first came out in 1976 there was a several-months wait plus a several hundred dollar upcharge for "market adjustment". I remember seeing my name entered in a thick ledger book (along with a deposit for that position) for the priviledge of eventually getting a new Accord.

At the time (Oct. '99) I felt lucky to lease my stook for $4k over with a residual of $17K after 66 months for $437/mo. Dealers in this area were asking up to $10K over when the car was first introduced.
