Who pays markup for a new S2k now a days?!
So, I was bored and decided to drop by Capitol Honda in San Jose, CA.
I went to their lot and check on their S2k. They had about 5 '05 cars there. I took a glance at their stickers and I was shocked! Their Asking price was $39,000!!
Taking a closer look I saw one of the item was a $5k in dealer's mark up. I thought no one was even paying MSRP for these cars now. What were they thinking!
If you are in the bay area and bought a new S2k recently, how much did you paid for yours?

I purchased my S2k from Capitol Honda, $29.5k (without any real haggling). Those markups are all informalities, but eh if you're stupid enough to pay the markup on an s2k at this point in time, odds are they're more than willing to sell it to you at that price.

San Diego Tipton Honda has a $3000.00 mark up for the S2000 and the most unbelievable thing is that they also have a $2000 mark up for the CRV, a freaking CRV!!!

That's some crazy mark-up there. There are good deals out there on the S2000s (I just leased one myself) but you'll need to ask for it. If the salesman feels that you know the market, there's less BS to get through before he gives you a good deal. Of course, the standard line is "yeah, these are selling like hotcakes" and you'll pay more if you're not prepared.
