Default Who makes the Best Aftermarket Alarm?

I have given up on the OEM Honda alarm and am now looking for a top rate alarm.
One that offers the best prevention instead of after the fact that when it has already been stolen like LoJack.
I have a list of some that have been mentioned.
Viper Responder
Glock
WLaurent
It would be helpful to know what makes them the best.

Compustar by Firstech. http://www.compustar.org/

Great two-way pager alarm/starter type system.

Viper and Clifford are basically the same thing... nothing too special.

Clifford has been on top for a while, but lately the popular alarms are the 2-Way paging systems. I would consider getting a pager alarm because even though the range is limited it is still good to know if your alarm has been triggered when you are in range.

They key to a good system is the installation, so make sure you get a high quality installation.

these are the alarms I recommend,

Yes and No, Clifford was at one point a seperate company and they had a better product so DEI bought them out to get their technology and incorporate it into the Viper line. But even still Clifford is the top of the line that DEI sells, the Viper line is for the average "joe" who doesn't know any better. Just like Lexus/Toyota, Acura/Honda, Infiniti/Nissan, same company but different products.

Well this average "joe" that doesn't know better has the viper responder. I think it works great. I've got it with the field disturbance sensor. I don't know about the best. I've read other posts the alarm should be what YOU need it to be. Me I wanted the remote that let me know if someone was messing with my car. I really didn't care about the other features. I also wanted to leave the top down and have the alarm tripped only if someone reached all the way inside the car. The rest of the time it's either with me at work or home in the garage. They set it so passive-arm is disabled. Which means when I take it to the shop and forget to switch to valet. I don't have to bring them a spare key to shut it off.

But once again I agree the alarm should be for what you need to protect the car from.

Well hey what do I know... Just my $.02
