Default Who here has experienced their rear end going wide (unintentionally)?

A buddy of mine has wrecked his S 4 times so far (some driver error, some other driver's fault). Eitherway, I'm just wondering how many times your just driving along and next thing you know your spinning. I hear the 00-03 chassis is pretty twitchy at the limit, but i have als heard horror stories about that light weight rear.

Well, I had experience the rear end slide out of my s2k (I wasn't driving a friend 22yrs old owns a supra tt who was driving) Anyway, he wanted to show me to be experience careful when driving the s2k. We took a sharp turn at 15 miles an hr and the rear end came out. He told me, "that is how easy the rear end kicks out" so becareful and respect the car. Then again that wasn't unintentionally, it was intentional. Hopefully that helps, and sorry about it being so long.

Well, the first time was unintnetional. After that I ahve been playing around in an empty parking lot getting experienced with the situation. It helps if it ever comes up again, kinda like preventative maint

This is one of the "true sportscar" design elements of the 00-03.

it's the stories that go something like this that worry me: "I'm just driving along a straight freeway in a light drizzle and next thing I know, I'm facing the other way..."

I'm on my S-02s still with drizzly weather in the Bay Area and I'm really reticent about going on any group drives in this weather.

Yeah, the S02's really suck when wet. That can also be a fun thing as it gets your ass end wild when practicing.

Geez, some people make it sound like the old S2000's just lose the back end randomly and with no warning. The only time my back end has come around is on the track on the last lap of the last session of the weekend and I was pushing really hard through a corner, slightly drifting and it came around. Instructor said I lifted slightly and that's what caused it. I've never had a problem on the road other than minor twitches, mostly caused by me trying to have fun. Take some driver education classes, respect the car, and don't drive in the rain on bald S-02's and you should be fine. I think most of the problems with these cars losing control is caused by the person behind the wheel, but most people find it easier to blame the car than themselves.

I was hydroplaning numerous times on the way to San Francisco on 280N. Funny thing is, there weren't any big puddles.

This car is very tricky at times.
