Who has the Weapon R Intake?
I just bought a used one for a pretty good price and haven't found much about them on the site. I steered towards this Intake because hydrolock is not an issue.
Is the weapon r intake just as loud as the AEM, Comptech, PRN etc etc etc. My reason for changing the intake is primarily for sound.

not many people here will run with that system mainly because it's not as effective as better units on the market. plus weapon-r is more inclined to be found on more ricey cars.
however. a pipe is a pipe. if you thermal coated it, got a quality filter, and plummed some cold air up there, i think it would be just as effective as a more expensive unit.
but that's neither here nor there because you only want the sound. you could've obtained this goal by simply removing the stock air box's top lid. granted there will be power loss, but there will probably be some with the weapon-r as well. good luck.

I love mine, loudest , most aggressive sounding intake on the market! I did a dyno day over a year ago where we had stock and modded S2000's with all different intakes and exhausts. I had a civic intake on at the time (almost identical to the Weapon -R in size and design). I was otherwise stock and had the most H.P. and TQ. out of all of them. It has awesome throttle response, looks good , is inexpensive and is easy to install and maintain the filter. Bottom line is that no intake for the S2000 will give any substantial gains so choose for looks, sound and price!

My only beef with the Weapon R is the design. Its too long of a tube and I don't thinkg it allows the engine to breathe easily...resistance is directly related to length or another example is, imagine how hard it would be to breathe from a straw...pretty hard.
The comptech has a shorter, wider intake pipe = less resistance.
Hygeneboy is right in the sense that no intake will give huge gains (heck, his dyno is pretty typical for a stock 02), but the wrong one can hurt you. Myself, I wouldn't go with the Weapon R.
