Default Who has the HIGHEST mileage on their S2000

I am curious who has the most mileage on their S2000? I plan on keeping mine until it dies and I am wondering how long this "Hummingbird" of an engine will last? So far the highest mileage that I have heard of is 96,000 miles (not KM). Can anyone beat that.

Our beloved Civic Si went 253,496 miles without having the top end off the motor.

Just curious?

There are a vanishingly small number of cars in the 100-150k range now. Search for '100k' and you'll find some info. In the next two years we should start to see how reliable the S2000 really is over the long haul. Right now I do not see much evidence that it has the durability of a Miata or a Civic; few cars are high mileage and many of the ones that are appear to have experienced issues.

I'd like to know if who ever post, still have their original clutch. I started a tread to see the highes mileage with the stock clutch. Highest mileage i got was 60k and other 58mi stock clutch.

91,000 miles here. changed my clutch at 30k (recall) and nothing has gone wrong since. Knock on wood, and my car is modified.

My '02 has 53k miles.

I'm still on the original clutch, which is somewhat surprising since myself and a couple other folks learned stick on it. Lately the clutch doesn't feel like it's grabbing as well anymore, though, so maybe that's a sign that the end is near.

The only issue I've run into as I've racked up the miles is that my 2nd gear synchros don't seem to be working as well anymore, particularly when cold. I sometimes feel resistance when upshifting into 2nd. If I force the stick into 2nd against that resistance, the result is usually a grind. Once the transmission is warmed up though (after about 10-15 minutes), then it shifts a lot better.

Might need to change transmission fluid.

xviper posted a Do it Your self on this. I think the differential fluid should be changed to.... I'm doing that this weekend... I only have 11, 000mi on mine

Yep, changed the transmission fluid about 3k miles ago. It didn't help much. Upshifting into 2nd sometimes still gives resistance and the occasional grind. I was browsing the archives yesterday and read that some people had eliminated this problem by changing the clutch fluid as well. So, I'm going to give that a try today or next week.

I'll turn 73,000 miles on the way home from work today. The clutch was replaced at 60,000 because of the buzzing but it still worked perfectly fine. I've had zero problems with the engine or anything else.
