Who has had a Rick's 4.77 gearset installed w/o a problem?

I bought the 4.77 from Ricks. I then bought a used diff off of ebay. I sent both to Ganley. Ganley went out of there way to check the used diff out and suggest I replace some parts. I agreed. The extra cost was minimal. The diff arrived. I installed the diff and it is awesome.

I also have a set of Ricks 4.77s , the install went smooth and the shims provided were in spec. It sounds as if you need an installer who has more experience. I went to a local guy who specializes in drive lines. This is a critical job that not just any shop can handle. Don't seel the gears just do some research and find the right shop. These gears are one of the best mods you can do for the $ . Good luck

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I drove around today feeling the long stock gears and I was rethinking my situation.
I may just wait a little while till the dust settles and try again.
The point of this post was to see if anybody else had been in my place and since it seems no one has, I'm thinking it was an accident to trust my favorite mechanic. What a bummer. You build a working relationship with someone and then something crappy like this happens.
