Who has driven both a 2004 and a pre 2004?

Drove both and the 9K redline was exciting, but the '04 engine is more tractable, and the VTEC is on the same number of rpms - in the "03 and earlier it came on at 7000 - 9000. With the new car it is 6000-8000. The powerbands are different and the '04 engine has dynoed at more HP, and more torque than advertised.
Both are close to being equally quick - just a little more relaxed driving style in the '04 to get same every day performance as in '03 and earlier. As mentioned earlier, you can feel power come on at 3000 RPM - 6000 RPM - and then hang on for the VTEC - like a second engine kicks in.

just wanted to tell u
2.0 liter engines still are all over the place in 04 except in america market
which i can explain people still prefer the 9000 rpm besides americans who always complain about torque on F20C
so the question is why wouldnt they put F22C into S2000 in other country???
all i can come up with is that people likes f20c better still except american

the reason is because of tax based on cylinders.
not only americans prefer torque. last CAR(european) magazine comparo complained about it. the boxster S was the winner.
me, i like the 2.0 and the 9k for the novelty. defined the car i think but i dont mind the extra punch in daily driving.
