who else is happy with their MPG?

Most I've gone on a tank was 302, and it filled 11.9 gallons. I usually fill up around the 270 mile mark with 10.5ish gallons, but lately it's only been around 240-250 (I took the airbox lid off and now I can't keep my foot out of the throttle, it just sounds too cool!)

My last tank was 90% interstate with a couple hits of VTEC in town. I got to 283 miles before the LOW FUEL light came on, and took it another 20 miles to 303 miles before I tanked up (I had to hit 300 for posterity). I put 10.5 gallons in, for an average of 28.8mpg. I used the cruise control to stay between 72 and 75mph, with a few passing runs.
This is only the second tank of gas I've put into the car since getting it two weeks ago. The first tankfull wasn't measurable because the trip odometer said 540 miles.
I'm confident that I can exceed 30mpg on a long trip.

This is one of the main things I love about this car. Any schmuck engineer can figure out how to get more HP by dumping in more gas, true engineering is great HP AND great MPG, go Honda! (25-28 MPG for me).

I get 23 MPG pretty much no matter what I do. The only times it's lower is after an auto-x and I don't even know what it is then (can't be that bad). I've never gotten higher than 23 though but also have never had 100% freeway miles on a tank.

I have gotten as high as 30 on the highway, and as low as 22 in town. On one deserted highway run I did at 110, it was down to 26.5, but how many other cars will deliver that mileage at that speed? As they say, driving conditions have something to so with it. I find I get less fuel efficiency in our very hot and our very cold seasons. Also, I think sometimes the quality of gasoline isn't what it is supposed to be. Right after Hurricane Katrina, and the resulting disruption in our gasoline supplies, the mileage on all three of my vehicles was down --- as it has been at other times -- particularly during periods of so-called supply shortages of gasoline. It seems that the tighter the supplies, the poorer the quality. And I have suspected the accuracy of some gasoline pumps around here, which would certainly effect mileage computations.
Thanks,
Richard

read a gas article in one of those uk magazines, evo or top gear. i forget. anyway, different cars responded differently to different gas. so they said if you feel like it runs better on one gas brand. it just might.
overall best gas is the freshest, high turn around. that made the most difference.
back on top. lowest 22, highest 32. i can't break into the teens if i tried. well maybe if i used 1st gear only.
