Its a bone stock S2000. I'm happy to bow down to the S afficionados who know the car inside out. However, can you explain to me what is happening with this "kick in the pants" that I'm feeling?
Are you sure it's bone stock? As others have said, on stock S2000s, vtec kicks in a little over 6k rpms. I have an ap2 ('05) and vtec kicks in at 4k rpm if I'm wot, or 6200 when driving normally. That is ONLY because I'm running an eManage Ultimate that was tuned that way.

To the OP, I have driven 2 ap2s as DDs for the last 5 years. 21k miles on my '04 (previous) and 58k on my '05 (current). I'm top down unless it's storming, 35 deg F or below, or roasting hot.

I've been DDing the S the last 2 1/2 years. I still love the S, but have been wanting another DD. Perhaps a used 328 or 535.

I had a 07 s2k dd and loved it, sucked in the winter though. Now I have a s2k cr and dd. Still love it allthough sometime in the near future I am going to get a beater for a dd since I hate putting aalot of miles on the car. It only has 2000 miles right now anyways and those are highway miles from jersey to nc. Seeing how I am 24 with my dream car is also pretty ****in sweet. Bought a stage 5 comp cluth and lightweight flywheel and am now weighing options on what turbo I will get. Man I love these cars haha.

I go to college in philadelphia and commute from jersey everyday i have class and i hate driving in the city, but its not because of the S, actually the S makes it more fun on the tight little streets i go down sometimes, i couldnt imagine driving a sedan anymore as a dd, it would rip my heart out

I hate it.

It makes my work days long, can't stop thinking about driving it after work.
