Daily drove our AP1 from 2003-2007, top down most times except for Winter. One day a co-worker asked, "did you do something different with your hair?"

I hadn't. But then it dawned on me... it was raining and it was one of the few days I had left the top up.... Honda Hair, FTW!

I do the same thing! In the summer, it doesn't matter what I do before work--it always looks the same.

___

DDing the S, it isn't always a peach in the winter here in Salt Lake City--after too many snowy days I wonder why I'm not in an Audi/STI/anything with AWD, a metal roof, and no rattles. I get through by dropping the top now and then or tooling around in the snow with RWD, but the first day I get the summer tires back on is when I really fall in love with the car again.

I wouldn't mind having a miserable-weather-only beater car though. If it's snowing, the S does just fine on the road with the right tires, but it's not any fun to commute in, so it feels like I'm wasting the car in a sense.

Set it on cruise control with the top up and the air conditioner turned on to the lowest setting (one click above "off"). I got 35.4 mpg once, 33.XXX at least twice, and the rest of the time, I got between 29.9 - 32 mpg. I set Stacey to cruise control for the majority of the trip.
congrats! i definitly got to try that. i get about 20mpg hehe, thats what i get for top always down and a heavy foot.

since 10/03 this has beenmy main car. I have another that seats 5 and has a 6 speed, but i choose this one every day i can. i use it to do costco shopping and general errands as well as commute and going out for a ride. I have never been so satisfied with a car over all.

Now, I would improve it if possible, slightly larger cabin, better quality leather, real guages, a better stereo, a frew little extras in the electrics dept, sat/nav, more torque...oh...then it would be a boxster S.

Continues to return the simple joy of driving, reliable as pig iron under water, i do my own maintenace, decent mpg every day no matter how i drive or where i drive, love those on/off ramps and track days. best dam gearbox on the planet, great brakes, nice suspension, car needs major mods to enjoy.
