Essentially they did steal it. They just decided to "throw it away" after taking ownership of it.

Looks like I'll be talking with a lawyer and filing a police report, I'll keep you guys updated and thanks for the responses.

You will probably get your money back at least... You should also file a complaint with your local DMV. If Whip factory is a registered repair shop they can go after them for you in some cases.

Did you sign a piece of paper that had fine print on it? If so check it for items left at the shop for longer then X amount of days.

Agree with this. If that clause is on yor paperwork, you are SOL. If not, go for some restitution.

^ legally they have to, unless you have signed a disposition form for them. They are also entitled to charge you storage for parts.
