Whip Factory in Plainfield, IL stole my motor
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up if you plan on going to this shop. My motor blew in September so I had Whip Factory replace the it for me. I was happy with the work but staying in contact with these people is ridiculous, they aren't at the shop during their posted hours. So I get the motor swapped out and I ask them to hold onto the old one until I can pick it up with a friends truck. I took some trips to the shop before to pick it up but no one was there at those times. I let the shop know that I would be picking it up soon and that was last month. I finally have my friends truck available and when I call the shop to tell them I want to pick up my motor he tells me he threw it away. All that was wrong with it was a spun bearing, and this guy told me that no one wants a blown s2k motor (the head was completely fine) and that he just threw it out because I took to long. These guys shouldn't be trusted.

Betcha it they did not throw it out.
But sorry to hear none of the less.
You could take action if it is really that important to you.
I certainly would.

Show proof to them from ebay, craigslist, or forums as to how much the motor was worth at it's condition. Ask for some sort of compensation.
If you can show proof via email, or they admit that you were able to store the motor there for a month, then you could send them to small claims court.
None of the less, they should have told you prior to "throwing it away".
Good luck with everything!

240 hp from a stock four-cylinder? No way they just 'threw it out'. Someone has your engine. Hope you can get some restitution.

Yeah don't let them just get away with it. Demand the engine or money back. I'm sick of hearing these stories and then no one doing something about it. Damn shops love to screw people over.
If they refuse you can take them to small claims court. They have no right to throw it away without telling you.

Press theft charges against him/shop. Even if you had him swap motors, the original is still your property. I bet he'll find it real fast.

yah, you should escalate this for sure
claim they stole it. If you get into this back and forth about rather or not they said you could store it- I think you're more likely to loose the argument
