I have 5960 miles on mine and usually have the fuel light come on at 210 miles. What's wrong with me? If I saw 250 miles on a tank I would pass out.

Hmm, sounds like something's wrong with mine then cuz at 250, I still have just under a 1/4 tank. I'm quite sure it didn't use to read that tho...I was sure I was close to empty around 250 or maybe just a bar or 2, but I never paid as close attention till the magic 3/4 tank thing happened.

klee1113: what did you do after the magic 3/4 tank happened to you? Did you ever go to Honda to get it fixed under warranty?

Averaging 22 or 23 MPG, you want to fill up before 275 miles!
I get 275 consistantly when I fill up, which is usually right when the last bar goes bye bye.

Guess I need to step on it

Like I say, the S is not my daily driver. My S is used solely for the purpose of pleasure driving. That involves a lot of speeding up and slowing down which as I mentioned, kills fuel milage. The type of road that is driven on, will also dictate fuel milage. Roads that are twisty and tight, force a driver to slow down and speed back up. Uphill, downhill, left, right, the car is either accelerating or it is braking. The car is being worked.

My favorite road starts about 10 miles from where I live. I even get a little pre-warm up on Stage Gulch Road on the way to Petaluma. Once D Street turns into Point Reyes Blvd, the hammer drops, all hell breaks loose

Point Reyes Blvd is about 18-20 miles long and is relatively smooth It goes all the way to Hwy 1 (Pacific Hwy).

If you be having bars, you be having fuel. If your at 1/4 tank with 250 miles, keep going, don't sweat it till your at 1-2 bars.

Racer, I'm wicked jealous of you. I know the roads of which you speak. Fantastic fun!

What worries me is that I didn't use to have the 1/4 tank at 250 miles before the "glitch" with my fuel gauge, so I don't know if I want to trust it and chance running out of gas with bars still on the gauge or before I can get to a gas station. Before the glitch, I'm quite sure I was close to no bars at 250 miles, definitely not a 1/4 tank left. So the huge change makes me suspicious of trusting the fuel gauge.
