Default Where's your gas gauge at 250miles?

About 3 weeks ago, driving home, I had about a quarter tank of gas left according to my gas gauge. I turned my head to look around and when I looked back at my gas gauge, it all of a sudden read 3/4 tank full!...I magically got 1/2 a tank of gas! Luckily, I keep my tripmeter refreshed on each fill up, so I had an idea of how many miles I had left. I filled up the tank hoping that the sensor was just stuck and that it would reset and be ok after the fill up. Now, it's been reading consistently, but it doesn't read the same as it did before. At about 250 miles, it reads about 1/4 tank left, and at 150miles, I'm just about 1/2 tank or just under. I don't entirely remember what it used to read at 250 miles, but I could've sworn it was lower (maybe 1/8 tank left). I do remember tho that at 1/2 tank, I was only at about 120 miles or so before the "glitch".
So, what is everyone else's fuel gauge reading at 150 and 250 miles? Perhaps mine is reading OK now. If not, I'll have to take it in to get it replaced. I don't entirely trust the gauge now and have been going by the tripmeter the past few weeks. Thanks.

250 miles is pretty close to a tankful for me, JSR. I'm sure it depends on your driving...

The '00-'03 gas tank holds 13.2 US gallons, and I don't think they changed it for your year... Averaging 22 or 23 MPG, you want to fill up before 275 miles!

I usually have about 1/2 tank at 150 miles, If I don't VTech it. A tank full takes me about 300 miles, so I think your gauge is working OK.
I have noticed a few times, the the guage has stayed on empty for a few miles after a fill-up, and then it shows full.

Well, on my '00, my gauge reads just below half at 150 and I have no bars left at 250. I drive about 3/4 freeway and 1/4 street. And Chazmo is right, it has a lot to do with driving style.

Yeah, I definitely know about the driving style. I should've prefaced my question stating "moderate" driving. On mostly highway and some street driving, I get about 26mpg. It definitely changes when I drive more aggressively, but considering it's been raining quite a bit lately, I haven't been pushing (plus, traffic doesn't help to VTEC in).
I remember filling up after the low-fuel light came on and I put in 10.7 gallons, so I still had about 2.5 gallons at the time. This was before my gauge "glitch". So, that was about 60 miles left until total empty after the low-fuel light comes on (before). Now, it looks like I won't hit empty (low-fuel light) until about 300 miles, which would seem I have no fuel left when the low-fuel light comes on (and typically, cars give you an extra gallon or two when the low-fuel light comes on).
More input please...it seems my gauge is reading ok for the first half (most ppl seem to show 150 miles at 1/2 tank), but not after that (I get 250 miles w/ 1/4 tank left) it seems off.

250 is pretty close to empty for me to. I don't ever get it that low, at 3-4 bars I always fill up.

I'm showing three bars at 240, and no bars at 250. Blink and they disappear somewhere in that 10 miles. I usually put in around 11 gallons so I know that I can probably go another 35-40 miles when the bars disappear.

I usually fill up at about 1/4 tank, which is about 220 miles for me. Half my driving is city driving, and I'm not afraid to accelerate.

I have noticed that the reading is several bars different after the car is fully warmed up. I forget whether it gets higher during the warm up, or higher overnight when the car cools down.
