where do you dispose used engine oil at?
I want to start changing the oil myself on my S2k instead of using a quick lube place to do it. My only question is, where can I safely dispose of the used engine oil? Will a quick lube type place accept used oil for a small fee, and do I need to transport it in a special container?

Pep Boys or Napa, pretty much any autoparts store.
Also, I think the quick lube places will dispose of it for a small fee as you pointed out. And I have a drip pan that is sealable, so it is convienent to cap it off and take it to the parts store.
Now the truth is I have not change the oil in my S2k yet, I'm at 3550miles
