Paying over sticker does not make the dealers thieves. The MSRP and markup are written right on the sticker price.

Ever wonder why dealers hate doing warranty work if they get paid by the manufacture? Because they make almost no money on warranty work. They do not get reimbursed fully for their repairs. On a 6 hour clutch job they will only get about 4 hours.

From my experience, anytime a manufacturer offers any kind of incentives is the best time to get your best deal. Look at all the rebates and 0% financing available today from the American manufacturers. If Honda ever offers a S2000 special, it will on a lease deal (ie: NSX for $999).

It may never happen in socal, but here in Chicago several buyers were able to purchase S2000s this winter at invoice. Not from all dealers, but two or three were advertising them in the sunday Trib at $28,495.00 or $28,445.00. I was able to purchase one from a dealer who advertises that they would match any legit price at the $28,445.00 price. No trade in or financing.

It's probably too late now though, I actually drove home for work w/ the top down yesterday. A bit chilly, but it really got me looking forward to summer.
