When to buy s2000?
#12
Im 20 and I found out I had brain cancer a month after buying my s2000. That first month of being able to drive it was amazing. Can't drive it anymore since I cant see correctly. So forget the price and just buy one life is too short...

I'm in New England and haven't noticed a big shift between the seasons as far as prices. I'm constantly on the look-out for S2000's and all I've noticed is that come winter there are just none to very few listed for sale. In the spring-summer-fall they are for sale and the pricing remains pretty flat. Most people follow blue-book values (with some exceptions). Don't wait for fall thinking a ton will be on the market. It seems like more people sell this car due to life changes (e.g. Just bought a house \ Just had a kid) not because winter is coming. So if you find the right one for you and it's priced right, buy it.

People need to respect life for what it is a gift , like our cars are a gift from Honda . Life is a gift from above , I wish you well . Makes me think about whats important in life , hitting that 9k redline as much as possible ...hope u once again can drive your S soon

As above posters said, wait til winter (if you have a winter, I don't). If you live in a state with two seasons like myself then doing research is the only way to make a good buy. I found my S2000 in July '08 listed for $17,700 at some dealership but I kept looking for other private sellers. I actually found the same car posted by the actual seller himself (he had it on a dealer site and autotrader.com via the dealer), negotiated with him directly and got the car for $14,400 cash. Patience and searching will be a great ally for you. Good luck finding one of the best, cost efficient sports cars ever made!

when you find the right car.
it took me 6 months of waiting bargaining and deals fallin through before I finally got my S.
it was worth every bit of it.
id go look a some decide what color you want and go from there.
if you want one of the harder to find color combos like i did its gonna take a while but its better to wait then to rush and not be completely happy with the car.
