Default wheel/suspension combo .....help

I have already done a search, but I'm not satisfied with the info...so i'm hoping to get the lowdown here. I am almost 100% sure I will be going w/ the SSR comp wheels (the 18's). I know that I would like to lower the car once I get the wheels, but there seems to be some concerns w/ 1) Offsets not being that great, 2) rubbing when you lower the car after you put the 18's on it.

My question is really three-fold...1) Do the 18" SSR comps fit the car well independent of lowering? 2) How low can you go before you run into problems?? 3) Would Bilstein PSS coilovers be a good choice for the street?

I have been looking into coilovers and found a really good deal on the Bilstein PSS (not to be confused w/ the PSS9's)...I am looking for something good for the street; I had H&R coilovers on my M3 and loved them, but the bilsteins are like $400 cheaper. I've heard good things about Bilstein on other forums, but I want to know what you guys think since YOU own and drive these cars every day.

Does anyone have SSR comps on stock suspension?? Does it really look that bad? I am just confused and don't want to make a very expensive mistake.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with those wheels but here are some pics of notoriousjap's car from the "official rim pic" thread:

There's no drop in these pics but I think he's got it lowered now. You might want to pm him for advice.

same question i want to ask~
i've the KG/mm race springs and thinking of getting Koni shocks, and the price adds up as close as the Bilstein PSS. i don't track my car, just want the lower look. the car is currently running w/ stock suspension and 17" OZ superleggera rims (3 finger gap back & 2.5 finger gap in the front).

What are the offsets for the SSR comps?

I have BBS rgr's with offsets of 50 front, 53 rear. The car is lowered a bit with H&R springs. It will rub with aggressive canyon driving.

If the SSR's offsets are similiar you'll prob experience the same.

Thanks for the info guys...I'm not in a hurry to get the wheels yet anyway since it is winter, but I will be looking for some sort of drop on my car when I do.
