Yea, rears...
When my car was stock, rear S02's were in need of replacement at 5,000 miles; Though they still had minimal tread left on the inside of the tire at that point, they were no longer safe in the rain. However, I always tend to run them a little longer than I should, so I was replacing the rears between 5,000 and 6,000 miles. One pair of front tires lasted as long as two pairs of rear tires.

Now that the car has been modded I'm getting between 3,000 and 5,000 miles to a set of rear tires.

I doubt my wear rate is typical, because ... well, the Evolution instructors have called me "DK," so you get the idea.

12k for rear, double that for front.

Because I want to know how long the tires actually last and not how long you go before you just change your tires.
But "how long the tires actually last" and "how long you go before you just change your tires" are the same thing no? Utility goes from 100% new to 0% when you decide to replace them, no? It may not be the wear bars or cording showing through, but I doubt anyone simply changes their tires every 3k mi or something.

And besides, isn't it going to be hard to get accurate info if you don't know the tire type, brand, thread count, driving style, etc?

At any rate, I got 17k on my original OEM rears, 10k on a set of Kumho MX, and am now 5k into a set of RE050As. I autocross about once a month and drive aggressively, and I know others who have gotten 20k+ on Bridgestones driving in autocrosses every weekend, but that includes the highway miles getting to all those events around the state.

I have the same experiences with my SO2's on my AP1, they lasted under 10K miles and were basically bald in the rear. Fronts were okay.

My 07 AP2 have about 21K miles on them, and have been through 2 hard HPDE sessions. They still have PLENTY of tread left. As one poster said above, it's a little sketchy in the heavy rain, but I drive slow anyway. In the dry, they are perfect. I'm very tempted to get the RE050's again when I need tires. But I really want to try the Azenis and see how they measure up. I do LOTS of highway driving, as you can probably tell from my year and mileage.

My OEM rears were between 11000 and 12000 (RE050's) with my Azenis 615's I am getting around 8000 and they are slicks (I'm on the 3rd set of rears and the fronts are still good)

What's the most amount of miles you guys have put on tires before having them replaced.

Please don't post if you're just anal and replace tires before they are totally worn.
LOL Just mostly worn, then crashed.

My OEM Potenza S-02's were replaced on the front at 28,000 and are still good at 37,000. Replaced rear S-02's at 15,000 and again at 28,000. Put S-03's on rear and had to replace them just the other day at 37,000. The rear tires just wear terribly. On the plus side, my temporary spare is virgin-fresh at 37,000 miles.

Why would your instructor call you Donkey Kong?

Yeah, you won't get many responses from people that drive them bald - they've wrecked the S and aren't here anymore!

I didn't mean like super duper worn. But some people change tires like they change their oil.
